Dogs with the "Streator Animal Control" banner are not P.A.W.S. dogs and are not in our Foster program.
These dogs are in the custody of the City of Streator and are being held at Streator's Animal Control Facility.
These dogs have five (5) days to be claimed and, if they are not claimed, the City of Streator will allow five
(5) days for them to find a new home and, if that doesn't happen, they are then marked for euthanasia.

To claim or adopt one of the dogs out of the City of Streator Animal Control Facility, call City Hall at (815)
672-2517.

P.A.W.S. to the Rescue takes pictures of the dogs at the City of Streator's Animal Control Facility and
distributes 25 flyers in an effort to reunite the dogs with their original owners.  P.A.W.S. also posts the
pictures on its website as a courtesy to the homeless dogs.  P.A.W.S. to the Rescue is in no way affiliated with
the City of Streator.  If the original owner cannot be located, the flyers that P.A.W.S. distributes are "key" in
advertising these homeless dogs for adoption.  In the event that a dog's time is up and it is ready to be
euthanized, if P.A.W.S. to the Rescue has an opening in its Foster Program and has the funds available to
provide the necessary veterinary care, the dog is then placed into a state-licensed foster home until it can be
adopted.

If you cannot adopt one of these dogs, please consider being a foster because homeless dogs can use all of the
help that anyone can provide.

If you see a dog on our site that has the P.A.W.S. to the Rescue
logo next to it, that signifies that the dog is in the P.A.W.S. Foster Program and adoption information can be
obtained by calling (815) 673-3684 or 672-9799.  You may also proceed to the "Adoption" portion of this
website to complete and submit our online Adoption Application.  Also, you may proceed directly to our online
Adoption Application by clicking on the green "Adopt" button next to the dog's picture.
